Shawn Merriman-Roberts
Shawn’s dance journey began in 1992 with traditional Haitian dance under Bjola Bernard Branner. His professional career launched in 1996 after performing with Groupe Petit Le Croix. He has performed with multiple companies including Adiva Dance Company, Our Thing Dance Company, and Diaspora.
His teaching career started in 1998 and has included institutions like Santa Cruz and Santa Clara University, working with students ages 8 and older. “The Haitian drums…call to me, even to this day.”
