Youth Companies
Under the direction of Company Directors Micha Scott and Angela Chambers, we emphasize Modern and Contemporary dance as a foundation for technical development.
Our mission is to provide dancers with technical training, encourage and help them to find their creative expression, and offer them diverse performance experiences.
Our five Youth Companies are trained with this foundation that also integrates Ballet, Contemporary Jazz, Jazz, and African Diasporic dance forms. Each dancer develops their technique and attention to detail in the various forms through body alignment, proper placement, dynamic range, artistic expression, and musicianship. Dancers focus on their training through weekly classes as well as opportunities to study with renowned guests from around the world such as Gregory Dawson of DawsonDanceSF, Bessie Award winner Sharon Skepple-Mayfield of Garth Fagan Dance, and N’Jelle Gage Thorne and Guy Thorne of FuturPointe Dance Company. TWDCC Companies perform throughout the year and take field trips to see professional dance companies. In addition, Company 5 dancers take a bi-annual trip to NY during the summer to study with the Garth Fagan Dance Company.
TWDCC Companies are by INVITE only and require 1 year of TWDCC classes before consideration.

Ballet Company
Under the direction of Company Director, Raina Sacksteder, The TWDCC Ballet Company provides dedicated dancers with comprehensive ballet training, performance opportunities, and professional development. Company members train in classical Ballet technique, perform classical and contemporary pieces, and attend field trips to performances and workshops locally and in the Bay Area. Dancers also receive support with summer intensive auditions and have the option to attend regional auditions together. This program is designed to strengthen ballet technique, artistry, and career readiness in a rigorous yet supportive environment.
TWDCC Companies are by INVITE only and require 1 year of TWDCC classes before consideration.
