Raina Sacksteder
Raina began dancing in the small town of Grass Valley, California, and continued her training at Capitol Ballet Company in Sacramento under the direction of Stuart Carroll and Sharon Newton. She also attended intensives with American Ballet Theatre, Cincinnati Ballet, and LINES Ballet, and studied with the dance faculty at Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
Raina has been a company dancer with Peninsula Ballet Theatre, Alma Esperanza Cunningham Movement, and eMotion Arts, where she performed classical and contemporary works by choreographers such as Gregory Amato, Marika Brussel, and Ye Feng. She has also danced as a guest artist and worked with several independent choreographers throughout the Bay Area. She is a certified Pointe Safe Teacher through San Francisco Performing Arts Physical Therapy and has been TWDCC’s upper level ballet instructor since 2022 and the Director of the TWDCC Youth Ballet Company since 2024.
