Focus will be on the sexy Rio-style Samba and high energy rootsy Afro-Brazilian Samba. This series is geared for those who are new to Brazilian dance or wish to refine their movement. We will start with a full body warm up focusing on core strength, flexibility and alignment. We will then break down of the fundamental Samba step and layer in more super fun moves and choreography filling up the 60 minutes with continuous movement!
WHAT TO EXPECT:
A high energy workout; Brazilian Samba technique; deeper body awareness; intro to Brazilian rhythms; a gigantic smile on your face!
Sidney Nicol of Feathers and Fire Samba has been dedicated to Brazilian Dance for almost 20 years. She is a teacher, choreographer, performer and forever lover of Brazilian Dance. Her workshops aim to meet students where they are and always give the next level of challenge as well as learn how to use dance for sensual expression and personal empowerment!
