TWDCC Adult Programs

Adult Classes are drop-in only and may be cancelled on short notice. Please call TWDCC at (831) 332-1398 to confirm a class is happening. Plan to arrive early to assure your spot, to fill out the TWDCC Waiver, and so your teacher can start their class on time.

TWDCC abides by the Santa Cruz County, City, Tannery Campus, and TWDCC COVID protocols, whichever is strictest. Masks are optional unless otherwise noted.

All adult teachers, staff, dancers, drummers, and participants are required to sign a waiver the first time they take a class.

Adult classes ask varying amounts for class. Please arrive with cash or be ready to pay via a digital app like Venmo, Paypal, Cashapp, or something similar.

Connections: A 5Rhythms Dance Class
Tom Truman
7:15PM – 9:00PM
Cost: $20

5Rhythms is a dynamic dance movement practice created and cultivated over 40 years by Gabrielle Roth (1941-2012) and now practiced all over the world. There are no steps to learn, or particular choreography. We tune into the body’s sensations and move from there with awareness. The practice is a dynamic way to both dance and meditate. This practice is not aiming for any aesthetic result and requires no special physical fitness or previous experience. Only an intention to step into the moment and to give shape and movement to life flowing through us!

Beginning Contemporary for Adults
with Molly Katzman

Class cancelled 11/23/22!

7PM – 8:15PM (8:00PM end time for November & December)
Cost: $15 for one class, or $60 for 5 classes

This class is for the adult who has never danced, who hasn’t danced in years, who dances every day and can’t stop, won’t stop. This class is all about connecting to our bodies, our sensation, our joy of moving; you could never get it wrong since there is an endlessness of possibilities. We will also play with gravity and the weight of our bodies and practice releasing into momentum so we can fly, swing, swoop, surrender, yield, and fall. Let’s remember we have bodies who have an incredible capacity to feel and what it’s like to move together in person again.

How to Know When You’re Giving Away Your Energy
A collaboratively facilitated workshop with Ripple

November 5th
4:30PM – 5:30PM
Cost: $15

Sometimes we share our energy with others in a way that helps us grow together and sometimes we give our energy away in a way that drains us. This workshop is about using your feelings to know the difference, so its easier to make conscious choices. We’ll do a somatic practice to identify the feeling of giving away our energy and make plans for how to intervene. This is a Cooperatively Facilitated Workshop meaning everyone has the power to shape the agenda.

This studio is available to be rented starting at 3PM!
